Special Ingredients (optional in place of Seasoning Salt) |
Blend Cornmeal, Flour, Baking Powder, and seasoning
salt thoroughly. (Along with secret ingredients if you've got them.
Beat egg well. Add egg, milk, and beer to desired consistency. Not too
soupy, but a bit on the thin side. Mix in onion. Spoon into well heated
oil, and deep fry at 350o to 375o degrees, about
4 - 5 minutes. They should turn themselves in the pot as when first
side is done, unless crowded. In which case you may have to turn them.
If trying to cut calories, leave your consistency a bit thicker and pan fry.
Butter and eat up!
